The YouthBuild program provides students with the skills they need to earn a high school equivalency degree (GED) and construction skills training to prepare them for an entry level construction job. HBI-PACT is a construction industry-recognized credential issued by the Home Builders Institute. The program is for underserved young adults between the ages of 16 and 24 that live in the communities with the zip codes 27601, 27603, 27604, 27606, 27610, and 27616.
While participating in the 23-week program you will earn $75 to $100 per week while in the classroom training, and $10 per hour when working in the field on a construction site. The HBI-PACT certification prepares you for a career in construction with a starting pay averaging $15 per hour.
