Every five years Raleigh Housing updates the Consolidated Plan. The 5-Year Consolidated Plan serves two purposes. One, it serves as an application for federal funding. Two, it helps us rank the housing and community development goals for the next five years.
The 2015-2020 Consolidated Plan focused on these three things:
- Increase the supply of affordable housing
- Neighborhood Revitalization
- Enhance the homeless to housing continuum
In September 2019, we began the process of updating the 5-Year Consolidated Plan. We held five public meetings across the City to get input from the community. At the December 3rd City Council Meeting we held the first of two public hearings. City staff is reviewing all the feedback before updating the Draft Consolidated Plan. The updated plan will be released in spring 2020. The draft document will be posted on the city website for a 30-day public comment period.
The draft Consolidated Plan will go before City Council for the second public hearing in April 2020.
